City Park

One of the oldest parks in the community, City Park is located in the east central part of Manhattan, close to downtown and Aggieville, and directly across the street from City Hall. Although the park is managed for high volume use, it provides ample space for a quiet conversation and picnics throughout its 45 acres.

A large outdoor stage in the northeast section of the park hosts Arts in the Park, the nationally recognized summer outdoor entertainment series.  Several ball fields, a rose garden, tennis courts with lights, an outdoor basketball court, and a mile-long perimeter multiuse trail make City Park a place that offers something for everyone.

Just northeast of the shelter is a playground, and horseshoe courts are directly adjacent.   A sand volleyball court is also very near the shelter, and is available for reservation.

All park shelters are open during regular park hours for public use. Exclusive use is always granted to those who have obtained a reservation permit through the Parks and Recreation Office.
