Snow & Ice Removal
Sidewalks
Homeowners in the City of Manhattan are required by City Code to remove snow and ice from sidewalks which lie alongside or within their property and are used by the public. Snow must be removed within 36 hours of the cessation of any measurable amount of snow. Snow cleared from private property may not be dumped on public property.

City Streets
For removal of snow and ice on city streets, the city follows a standard Snow and Ice Operations Plan and has an established a snow route.
