Position Purpose: Motivated, organized, hard-working professional sought as a key member of the City’s management team. Performs highly responsible administrative work related to a wide range of municipal functions, under general direction of the City Manager in a full-service City.
Experience Required: Masters Degree in Public Administration and demonstrated increasingly responsible related local government experience. Preference is given for experience as Assistant City Manager or equivalent position in a smaller organization or an Assistant to the City Manager or Management Assistant in a City Manager’s Office in a larger organization.

Position Purpose: Provides positive customer service by answering phone, providing accurate information, performing data entry, program registration, and receipting money. Types, keeps files, and professionally assists public. Applicants should have proven skills in multi-tasking and working in a fast-paced office environment.
Experience Required: High School diploma or equivalent required. Prefer vocational/business school training with courses in office technology and computer software applications, such as Word, Excel, AS/400, or program and facility registration database. One year professional experience in customer service or related field; or equivalent education may be substituted for work experience.

Planning, execution, and evaluation of Flint Hills Discovery Center fundraising and related programs and activities, including membership programs, contributed income, research, capacity, and prospect building strategies. Primary contact and support for Friends of the Flint Hills Discovery Center, Capital Campaign, fund drives, and donor recognition/stewardship. The Development Officer is an integral leadership team member.
Requirements: Good communication and error-free writing to include correspondence, publications, and an extensive array of written materials. Bachelor Degree and four years of previous development experience; demonstrated experience/success in individual, corporate, or foundation fundraising preferred; must be a creative independent thinker with both confidence and ethics.

Flint Hills Discovery Center (Regular Full-time)
Starting Salary: $12.26 /hr.
Research and develop education programs with a science focus under the direction of the Curator of Education and other senior management. Implement science-related education programs; coordinate with the Volunteer and Customer Service Manager and the Education Specialist - History and Culture to communicate with docent volunteers. Possess knowledge of the scientific attributes of the Flint Hills region; work with databases; interact with program contacts, partner agencies, co-workers and volunteers in a courteous and professional manner; organizational skills to plan, anticipate, evaluate and assess resources for educational programs and ensure efficient use of those resources; work independently; participate in public speaking engagements; speak on camera, radio, and in front of groups of all ages; professional public image; periodically work nights and weekends on a variable schedule; maintain a valid Kansas driver’s license.

EVENT SALES COORDINATOR (Full-time)

The FHDC Event Sales Coordinator position contributes to the overall mission of the FHDC by implementing and managing the facility rental program as well as providing excellent customer service for all rental events held at the FHDC. In concert with senior staff, the position works with the design and production of marketing materials related to facility rentals including advertising, press releases, mailings, posters, flyers, newsletters, brochures and electronic media. Responsible for facility rental, event planning, and preparation for rental events organized by the FHDC, and all outside persons renting the FHDC facilities for private special events.
